“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

The above verse comes from one of my favorite psalms. It serves as a great reminder
to me. I need to begin each day by focusing on God’s word.

The “hills” the psalmist was referencing was Jerusalem, their “Holy Hill.” For us, the
focus should be on Jesus, “the Rock” on which our faith is based. His promises are
found in His Word. We need to make visiting “The Rock” part of our daily routine.

It can become easy for us to get caught up in the responsibilities of our ministry and
neglect our own spiritual wellbeing. A key element in our mental and spiritual health
should be private devotional time.

If we are not taking care of ourselves spiritually, we are of little use to those around us.

Take time to “Look to the hills” daily.
