Area C has trained, certified, and sent out two groups of evangelists since training began in the area.

  • First, 12 Evangelists from two churches trained from September 2021 to April 2022: Shepherd of the Hills in San Antonio and Messiah Boerne.
  • Second, 10 Evangelists from three churches trained from July 2022 to February 2023: Word of Life in Cibolo, Cross New Braunfels, and Mount Calvary in San Antonio.

It doesn’t stop there! Currently training 16 evangelists from 5 churches: Redeemer in Austin, Hope International in Austin, Acts Hays County, Acts Leander, and Trinity/Our Savior in Corpus Christi. Pastor Russell Hildebrandt is attending via Zoom to bring the evangelist training to Corpus Christi in 2024.

Deborah Woods from Shepherd of the Hills wanted to start a faith community where she lived. She was convicted when Rev. Philip Doublestein said 96% of apartment dwellers are unchurched or de-churched. While she was timid to start independently, she found the perfect partner, another evangelist who joined her. Next month, they will have been meeting for one full year. They have grown where a regular group of seven come together weekly for Bible study in Deborah’s apartment home. They do not go to church yet but want that Christian fellowship and study of the Word.

Kara Latimer, an evangelist from Word of Life, has been blessed with the opportunity to witness to a young woman who got caught up in the Wiccan religion. Rev. Ken Mitschke baptized this woman and her family in Kara’s pool. Kara now meets with two former Wiccans and another individual for weekly bible study as they learn about Jesus and all the Bible says about Him. Kara isn’t stopping there but remains intentional and wants to reach out to young mothers in her Home Owners Association.
