The Texas District is pleased to announce that Mr. Corey Moss has accepted the Call to serve as Director of School Ministry. Corey currently serves as Associate Head of School at Prince of Peace Lutheran School in Carrollton. He will begin his new role in January 2027.
“Dr. Bill Hinz has shaped Lutheran school ministry in Texas for more than 30 years, and we are deeply grateful. Corey brings a servant’s heart, strong leadership, and a clear focus on sharing Jesus with children. We are thrilled to welcome him into this new role,” said Rev. Dr. Jon Braunersreuther, Texas District President
Moss began his ministry in 2002 as a teacher at St. Paul Lutheran School in Thorndale, where he later served as assistant principal and was Called as principal. In 2018, he was Called as head of school at Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Dallas, and he joined Prince of Peace in 2023. He holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary mathematics and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University Texas, and he is pursuing a doctorate in strategic leadership at Liberty University.
Moss is already well known across the district. He has served on the Texas District Administrators’ Conference Team and the Texas District Lutheran School Accreditation Commission, chaired the Metroplex+ Administrators’ Group, and is co-chairing the 2026 Texas District Educators Conference. He says one question guides his decisions: “Will this cause more kids to learn about Jesus?”
He succeeds Dr. Hinz, who has overseen school ministry for the district for more than 30 years. The district thanks Hinz for his faithful service to Lutheran schools, educators and students across Texas.
Moss and his wife, Melanie, have been married 25 years. They have three children: Cohen, a sophomore at Texas A&M University; Libby, a freshman at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri; and Micah, a junior at Prince of Peace.
