We give thanks to God as we celebrate this month, 100 years of Hispanic ministry in Texas. It is a special moment to remember the faithful mission efforts that began many years ago and to see how the Lord continues to strengthen this work today. Across the District, mission efforts continue growing as we seek to reach Hispanic communities with the Gospel.

We are seeing encouraging examples in different parts of Texas. In Hereford, English classes are serving as an important bridge to the community, and two district evangelists are actively sharing the Gospel and building relationships with families. In Austin, ACTS Church Lakeway is putting into practice the vision of moving from simply sharing a building to sharing life and ministry with a Hispanic group that uses their facilities. Through this relationship, bonds of Christian fellowship are growing as they serve the Lord together. We also celebrate that we have 12 Hispanic students from Texas studying at CHS at Concordia Seminary, with 7 additional students beginning their studies this coming fall. We pray that the Lord will continue to bless these mission efforts in the years to come.
