As we shine the light of Christ in our daily lives and through our vocations, we sometimes struggle with fatigue and burnout. This is often due to what is termed “compassion fatigue” or “secondary traumatic stress,” which results from helping others through illness, disasters, and traumas.
This short video introduces a Bible Study by Rev. Rick Marrs, M.Div., Ph.D., a licensed psychologist, that discusses this issue. The information bar of the video includes a link to download the study.

If you would like to work through this study via Zoom with a group of other workers from the Texas District, please get in touch with Christiane Hobbs at chobbs@txlcms.org.
If having someone to talk to about life and ministry would help you avoid burnout while shining the light of Christ, any member of the Texas District Care and Coaching Team would be happy to walk alongside you. You can reach out to them through their email addresses on this webpage: https://txlcms.org/texas-district-care-team/.
