On May 4th, during the annual Baptismal Chapel at Redeemer Lutheran School, Pastor Kevin Westergren (Redeemer, Austin) baptized 24 students during chapel and another two students later in the afternoon. These two students wanted to be fully submerged. So, their class, teachers, and additional staff walked to Pastor Westergren’s house where the baptism was held in his pool.

In the history of Redeemer, this set a record for the most children baptized in one day! Previously, the most baptized at one time was 21 and that was when the baptismal chapel started over 25 years ago. Redeemer Lutheran School’s Baptismal Chapel is generally held around the first Wednesday of May. This chapel offers families the opportunity to have their children baptized during Wednesday Chapel.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
