[heading icon=”” type=”standard” size=”h4″ extra=””]Call A Pastor Process[/heading]

The process of calling a pastor is broader than finding an available pastor. During a vacancy a congregation can take the opportunity to identify and evaluate its strengths, weaknesses and vision for ministry. Once that information is gathered a congregation has a better idea of what kind of leadership gifts they need from a pastor. The Mission and Ministry Facilitator, and Circuit Counselor are people from the Presidents Office of the Texas District who are experienced, trained and available to assist.

To assist congregations in creating or revising their constitutions and bylaws and to help expedite the review process, the Constitution Committee strongly recommends congregations work through this Constitution & Bylaws Checklist (PDF) and return the completed checklist along with their entire Constitution & Bylaws in electronic form.

To submit your congregation’s new or revised constitution for approval, please send it to Rev. Mark Wiesenborn at Mark.Wiesenborn@gmail.com. Make sure your provide your name and phone number as well as the church name and city in the body of the email.

Please Note: According to Synod Bylaws 2.4 and 2.2, congregations are not to formally adopt new or revised constitutions and bylaws until receiving approval by Synod through District and its review process.
