Welcome to the Office of the President

Dear Friends,

The Texas District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is a partnership of 400+ congregations, 125+ schools, and dozens of ministries across Texas. Together, sharing and stewarding resources, we strengthen one another to share Jesus, make disciples, and show God’s love.

Our mission statement articulates this purpose clearly:

The mission of the Texas District is to strengthen congregations to: REACH the lost, DISCIPLE the saved, and CARE for people.

In addition to seeing the outstanding ministries of local faith communities flourish, we hope to be part of a Gospel Movement that spreads across Texas. Our prayer is that by the 125th anniversary of the Texas District in 2031, we will help send 500 new servant-leaders to reach 500 new communities with the Good News of Jesus.

The Texas District staff exists to serve the vibrant partnership of ministries that comprise the district and to help accomplish our shared mission. May the resources provided through this website and the ready assistance from staff, district vice-presidents, and circuit visitors bring blessing to you as you follow Jesus, rejoice in His gifts, and share His love!

The process of calling a pastor is broader than finding an available pastor. During a vacancy, a congregation can take the opportunity to identify and evaluate its strengths, weaknesses, and vision for ministry. Once that information is gathered a congregation has a better idea of what kind of leadership gifts they need from a pastor. The mission and ministry facilitator and circuit visitor are people from the Texas District President’s Office who are experienced, trained and available to assist.

Prayer concerns, thanksgivings, and calls extended to church workers from Texas District congregations and schools are emailed weekly from the president’s office through Minister to Minister. Click below to:
