About
The Texas District was formed in 1906 and is one of the 35 districts of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Our mission is to strengthen congregations to reach the lost, disciple the saved, and to care for people both locally and globally.
In the About Us section, you will find general information from the Office of the Texas District President including a personal welcome and an overview of the leadership including the Texas District Board of Directors, VPs and Circuit Visitors, and staff members. Here, you may also find information about our district-appointed positions, ministry partners, how to support outreach in the district through Texas Partners in Mission, and a Snapshot of the work we are currently doing.
Strengthen Congregations
The mission of the Texas District is to STRENGTHEN CONGREGATIONS to reach the lost, disciple the saved, and care for people – locally and globally.
Reach the Lost
God’s passion is that all people be saved and confess Jesus as Savior and Lord. The Texas District, through strong, healthy congregations and Christ-centered spiritual leaders, are reaching the unsaved everyday.
Disciple the Saved
The Texas District facilitates the development and sending of leaders for ministry. It supports congregations and helps catalyze the launching of new ministries to carry out God’s mission both locally and globally.
Care for People
Commitment to caring for all God’s people—the whole person—is at the heart of the Texas District’s mission. As a Christ-centered organization with God-envisioned values and principles, we intentionally care for the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors.
