Early Childhood Educators Conference

January 25, 2018 1:00 pm January 25, 2018 11:00 am America/Chicago Early Childhood Educators Conference

Peace….settling over you like a quilt on a cold evening….blissful peace…contented peace…a peace that passes all understanding…What one of us doesn’t wish that in this hectic and strife-filled world we could wrap up in the joy of THAT kind of peace? To have a refuge where we would receive comfort and strength for the journeys of life? The families we serve today are more harried than ever before, and MANY do not know the SOURCE of all comfort, salvation, peace and blessings. Please join us at the 2018 Texas District Early Childhood conference January 25-27th at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Marble Falls, where our focus will be helping others find a REFUGE in our wonderful God! In this frenzied pace of life, finding ways to help others through the storms that surround us could bring many blessings to the families we serve. Psalm 91:4 reminds us “He will cover you with his feathers and under his wing you will find refuge.” “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”(Psalm 46). In keeping these verses in mind, we’ll be blessed to hear from Rev. Steve Wagner (Concordia-San Antonio) as conference pastor, Adam Countryman (Concordia-San Antonio) for music, and Rev. Oscar Benavides (LINC–Dallas) who will set the tone of Finding Refuge. Dr. Kim Marxhausen (Lincoln, Nebraska) is our keynote speaker, bringing many years of experience in working with Lutheran Schools across the nation. Her messages on finding refuge in resilience, helping children self-regulate, and ways to integrate the faith through-out each day will motivate and give us tools for day-to-day use in working for the Lord. Need more practical, ready to “take-home” help with issues like fine motor development or discipline? Athena Odem (‘Ready Bodies, Learning Minds’) will offer practical training and motor labs and Diane Phelan (‘Conscious Discipline’) will motivate us to consider developing new discipline techniques. We also have specific topics for directors, infant/toddler teachers, and for those teaching 3’s, 4’s or 5’s. Registration information coming soon!
