The mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is “to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.” While meeting in biennial session in Lubbock, Texas, this past June, LWML Texas District demonstrated their desire, passion and zeal for mission outreach by voting to support many organizations throughout the state with their mission grants.

Using the theme “I am the vine, you are the branches” (John 15:5), LWML Texas District adopted 11 grants totaling almost $207,000 for mission work. Eight of these grants directly support Texas District missionaries who are bringing the Good News to those who do not know Christ’s love for them. LWML Texas District is a model of mission mindedness.

If you have never attended a smoothly organized, efficiently operated and administered convention, then you must attend an LWML conference! Additionally, I encourage all women in the Texas District, whether through membership in a local society or through support of the events they sponsor, to engage in the mission of the LWML. Lift up LWML in prayer, for the work they do to further the Kingdom is vital.
